1 week before the proposed commencement date, all Class Governors should meet and select a Captain/Chaperon and Assistant from their respective classes who must be part of the night reading group or the approval of management.
The Captain/Chaperon and Assistant shall submit a list of students who wish to be part of the Night Reading Group at least 2 days before commencement day. Others who join later shall have their names added to the list at the point of joining the group.
Treasurehall will provide a designated reading area. Students are not permitted to wander around the premises at night or move away from the designated area for any reason.
Treasurehall will provide an attendance register which must be signed by all participants when they arrive for night reading each day.
All members of the group will report before 9:00 pm, after which the gate shall be locked until 5:30 a.m. the next day.
Any misunderstanding or conflict between members of the night reading group should be reported to the Captain and Assistant for resolution, and if unresolved, to Treasurehall Admin Officers the next morning.
An Event Notebook shall be provided so that the Captain and Assistant can record any special event or observation occurring during the night or suggestions to improve future night reading.
Students are not permitted to play loud music, constitute a nuisance or engage in any activity that can affect the concentration of other members of the group in any manner.
Debtors are not allowed into the reading space. All debts must be cleared to be eligible.
Members of the night reading group are enjoined to come with one reading lamp, preferably rechargeable, although management may support the provision of light as its financial circumstances permit.
All phones should be in silent mode or of moderate volume throughout the night.
Non-Treasurehall students are not allowed to join the night reading class.
Personal visitors of any kind and description are not permitted to enter the premises at night.
All members of the group shall submit to security search when necessary and must avoid all forms of security breach.
There shall be no smoking of tobacco or any substance or drug abuse of any kind and in any manner.
Report of indiscipline or misdemeanour such as drunkenness, fighting, causing physical harm, breach of the peace or immoral behaviour received about any participant shall be viewed with seriousness. If substantiated, those involved may be asked to withdraw from the program.
Immodest dressing is outlawed.
Management or anybody so appointed shall pay surprise visits and may take immediate steps to correct any anomaly observed, which may include rebuking or dismissing any erring participant.
